Erik Grossgold, MD
Erik Grossgold is the chairman of the urology department at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA. He earned his medical degree at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and completed urology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School. After serving as a general urologist overseas for several years, he completed a fellowship in trauma and reconstructive urology at Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, MO. Dr. Grossgold first became involved with medical missions as a chief resident in 2013, participating in a combined pediatric and reconstructive urology mission to the Dominican Republic. Since then, he has remained heavily involved with humanitarian medicine at home and abroad, and his first experience with GSE was to Belize in 2019.
