Lauren Siff, MD
Dr. Siff is a double board-certified urogynecologist who serves as GSE Director with focus on developing international surgical training programs. Dr. Siff serves as Chief of Gynecology and Urogynecology for the Central Virginia VA Health Care System and is Associate Professor for the VCU School of Medicine and VCU Institute of Engineering.
Dr. Siff has dedicated her career to innovation and surgical education. She completed a certificate of Distinguished Educator at the Cleveland Clinic and precepts a variety of trainees including medical students, continence nurses, residents, fellows and practicing surgeons in Gastroenterology, Colorectal Surgery, Urology and OBGYN. She has a long history of leadership and research, holding positions within her institutions as well as in national organizations. She currently serves as the Central Virginia Site Lead for the National VA Women’s Health Research Network, Regional GYN Community of Practice Lead Consultant and sits on the National Surgery Office’s Surgical Advisory Board for OBGYN.
Dr. Siff is also CEO and Founder of SurgicalEd VR a Surgical Training Company aimed at Improving the Quality, Safety, Cost Effectiveness and Access to training, especially for procedures performed “by feel” or “blindly”, using haptic technology and Virtual Reality to prevent the need for practicing on patients. A strong mission of SurgicalEd VR is democratizing access to surgical training and therefore increasing the access to vital surgical procedures in all areas of the world. Dr. Siff is excited to expand on this mission through her position with GSE.
